Romantic Paris Itinerary
Check out this Paris Itinerary for a Couple’s Guide to Paris, the City of Love!
Going to Paris with that someone special? When you’re in Paris with your partner, there’s definitely some uniquely romantic ways to make the most of this beautiful city using this Romantic Paris itinerary. So sit back and explore this couple’s guide to Paris, the city of love.
Day One: For the simple travellers
Want to do something romantic in Paris that’s also budget friendly? Do a picnic in the park. You can make it as gourmet or simple as you wish! For a low key option, grab some cheap French wine and snacks from the supermarket and head to Butte Chaumont, lazing away reading books side by side on the big rolling hills. Or for something a little classier, picnic under the Eiffel Tower or on the famous green chairs at the Luxembourg Gardens. Buy your picnic goodies from nearby bakeries, butchers and patisseries so the quality of the food matches the surroundings.
Cap off your Romantic Paris Itinerary with a night time Seine River Cruise with champagne! Can’t afford a cruise? No stress! Stroll along the banks of Seine for Sunset, then bask in lamplight as the city sparkles all around you from one of the several beautiful bridges in central Paris. If you’re lucky, there might be a busker or two to set the mood even more!
Day Two: For the indulgent travellers
Live a day of pure indulgence. We maybe can’t afford to live like a rich Parisian all the time, but let’s save up and dream for a day! Start your boujee romantic Paris day by treating yourselves with a high-end macaron from Pierre Hermé or Ladurée, a decadent, rich hot chocolate from Angelina’s or Carette, or maybe a delicate chocolate from Alan Ducasse, Jean-Paul Hévin or Hugo & Victor. Later, have a late lunch at a classy French café or bistro in a ritzy area - maybe facing the Place De Vosges or somewhere nearby the Tuileries.
OR if you’re feeling greedy - go to the “Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet” food store where they have EVERY gourmet goodie all in one place, then walk across to the main Galeries Lafayette for some major retail therapy. Be sure to stop by the rooftop for views of the nearby Opera.
Top of your day with a high-end cocktail or champagne. Consider The Ritz to go all out, or the rooftop bar of the Pullman.
Day Three: For the quirky travellers
Visit Pere LaChaise Cemetery. Ok, this one may sound a little bizarre, but it’s actually super beautiful with many famous lovers and writers buried there. Plus, I find it prompts some intimate, deep conversations too - about life, love, meaning…
Catch a risqué burlesque show - Paris has a heap on offer. Moulin Rouge could be a good one for first timers with what I’ve heard is a decent dinner and drinks offering, or check out Crazy Horse or options for something a little spicier!
Day Four: For the wholesome travellers
A day trip from Paris together is such a lovely wholesome idea, with plenty of time to spend together the two of you. Visit Monet’s Garden in Giverny for picture perfect romance or Versailles and its beautiful grounds (you can even hire bikes or a golf cart - what cute, fun activity for a couple!).
Day Five: For the idealistic travellers
If one area of Paris is the most well known as romantic, it would be Montmartre. Take the day easy and explore its hilly, cobblestone streets and cute little cafes and patisseries for a picture perfect Romantic Paris day. Montmartre is also home to the famous “love wall” where the word love is graffitied in multiple languages as well as a museum dedicated to romance - Museum of Romantic Life Paris!
Then later - why not dance the night away. Check out some options here.
